What is Gather Atlanta?
GATL is a coalition of young creative organizations (MINT Gallery, WonderRoot, BurnAway.org, and ThoughtMarker.net) that puts on an annual conference for emerging creative organizations.

The conference is based on a trade show model, with invited organizations hosting tables for with information, demonstrations, etc.

The event also includes a panel discussion organized by Jeremy Abernathy of BurnAway.org

I see that Gather Atlanta has mixers.  What are those all about?
GATL mixers are small get togethers to perpetuate discussions between arts organizations year round. They also serve as opportunities for us to keep in touch with the community in order to better craft our annual event.

When is Gather Atlanta?
This year (2010), GATL takes place on July 31st at the Trees Atlanta building in Reynoldstown.  The panel discussion, "Art and the Public Sphere" will begin at 6:30pm and general networking will continue from 8:00pm until 10:00pm.

What are the benefits of participating in Gather Atlanta?
GATL provides a forum for emerging creative organizations to network with each other, present to the public, and be exposed to important members of the press and art communities. Last year representatives from Flux Projects, Atlanta Celebrates Photography, Creative Loafing, and many others came to the event.

How do I participate in Gather Atlanta?
The founders of GATL send out invitations to groups they deem appropriate. If you are part of a local creative organization and are interested in participating, please send an email with relevant information to Gather@GatherAtlanta.com

What criteria does Gather Atlanta use to determine an organizations ability to participate?
Factors that are considered for organizations to participate include:

- commitment to Atlanta
- age of organization (ideal candidates <6 years, acceptable <12)
- non-profit status
- budget/funding sources 
- arts programming
- need/impact potential of participating

Does it cost money to participate in Gather Atlanta?
No. The purpose of GATL is to unify the community of creatives in Atlanta and provide a forum for exposure at no cost to participants. However, GATL can use all the help it can get and would love any donations (money or in-kind) that you could offer.
